History

Welcome to ACRLC a Place of Learning, Hope, and Growth we are a learning center ran by a refugees community, providing education and opportunity for refugees students living in Malaysia.
Vision Driven Life.
ESTD of ACRLC
In the mid-2005, the Alliance of Chin Refugees opened a daycare center, its doors to a group of 15 students in a small room. The initial goal was simple yet profound to meet the basic educational needs of Chin refugees in Malaysia. Refugee children, often without access to formal education, faced uncertain futures as they waited for resettlement in a third country.
Led by concerned community leaders, Alliance of Chin Refugees Learning Center (ACRLC) was established in 2006. The learning center was founded with a strong belief that education is the key to a better life. Even in those early days, it was clear that the school would be more than just a place of learning, it would be a community where children could dream, grow, and prepare for a future beyond the challenges of refugee life.
The Journey of Growth and Expansion
The school’s growth over the years is nothing short of remarkable. What started with just two full-time teachers and a small group of students quickly expanded, thanks to the unwavering dedication of volunteers and donors from around the world. In the beginning, ACRLC offered basic education with continued support the school had already grown to offer a complete primary education by 2014 . Through the hard work of successive leaders and the continued blessings of donors, the school expanded to include kindergarten through middle school.
Vision Driven Life
A landmark achievement came in 2018 when the school introduced the Cambridge (O Level/IGCSE) curriculum, thanks to the dedication of former teachers. This was a transformative step in providing students with a world-class education, preparing them for higher studies or careers. In 2023, the school celebrated its first group of secondary graduates—six students who achieved creditable results, marking an important milestone in the school’s history. The journey of growth continued, and today, the school is proud to offer a comprehensive curriculum, including vocational training and secondary education.
