ACRLC Complete First KL Half Marathon!

On 29th June 2025, our principal and five students proudly represented ACR Learning Centre at the Kuala Lumpur Half Marathon held at Dataran Merdeka, running alongside more than 5,000 participants, including former Olympians, national runners, and international World Athletics athletes.

This was ACR’s first-ever participation in a major public sporting event and it was nothing short of historic!

All six of our runners including the principal completed the 21km race in just 2 hours, making it a proud moment of achievement for the entire ACR community.

🏁 Overall rankings:

👟 Male 16–25 category rankings:

“Crossing the finish line was more than just a moment — it was a reminder that we can go further than we ever imagined.” — Student Runner
“Running alongside my students and seeing their determination was truly inspiring. This is a moment I’ll never forget.” — Principal Isaac
“This experience taught me that discipline and teamwork matter just as much as speed.” — Student Runner

Competing among world-class athletes and crossing the finish line was not just a race, but a statement — that refugee youth can rise, run, and inspire. This milestone sets a new standard for ACR — proving that strength, opportunity, and spirit know no boundaries.

We are also honored to express our sincere appreciation to our Chairman, Mr. James Bawi Thawng Bik, for generously sponsoring professional running shoes for all our participants. His support played a vital role in preparing our runners for this challenge.
